We’ve all played video games as kids, and I’m confident that we’ve all wondered, “Wouldn’t it be cool if I made a viral game?”. The world of video game development is vast, exciting, and often overwhelming. From the initial spark of an idea to seeing your creation available for others, and probably most rewarding, seeing other people enjoy your creation. It’s no surprise that there is a massive community dedicated to developing independent games either as solo projects or within small groups.

Whether you’re planning to be a solo developer with big dreams, a student considering a career in the industry, or simply curious about what it would take to make your ideas come to life, this story aims to illuminate the path from concept to completion and everything in between. Remember that while the road may be challenging, it can also be immensely rewarding.
